Authentic, natural and a piece of the Moroccan Soul
Lesser known by their true name are the exquisite soft ivory coloured Beni M’rirt carpets which have only recently emerged on the carpet market most probably instigated by the enormous demand for Beni Ouarain carpets.
The weaving and wool quality of the modern Beni M’rirt carpets is excellent. They are hand woven according to traditional Berber weaving and they are incredibly dense and sumptuous.
The number of vibrant weaving traditions for the rugs was just as many as the Moroccan tribes. While some used natural dyes and dyed with henna, other tribes used brown, bold red, tangerine, magenta, rose and mauve dyes were used.

Beni Ourain is a group of 17 Berber tribes that traditionally inhabits the Atlas Mountains of Morocco. Our Beni Ourain rugs possess a spirit and a character, a real berber rug straight from the Atlas. It is a reflection of the daily life of the women that make it. Most of our vintage Beni rugs are cream(ivory) in color, although differences in the tone are found depending on the sheep’s color. They are considered to be the most prestigious rugs in Morocco, made from the very finest wool.
